Piraeus Bank announces that it was certified by the international standard PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) for data assurance of e-transactions carried out through cards (credit and debit cards) as well as for card holders data.
This certification constitutes the recognized standard and the obligation of compliance with card data management by all stakeholders, such as traders, financial institutions, organizations, companies etc. It endows additional levels of assurance and confidence to customers, shareholders and Bank associates. The certification by PCI DSS was granted by TrustWave Ltd, the leaders in providing safety and certification solutions.
It should be stressed that Piraeus Bank is the first Bank of Greece certified by the standard PCI DSS, confirming thus in practice the Bank's devotion and its investment in the electronic transactions sector. The PCI DSS standard will allow the Bank to ensure immediate certification of the majority of traders, enterprises and organizations cooperating with it in the sector of electronic transactions clearance without any further action on their behalf, while at the same time an information process has already started to all Bank associates who have implemented more complex e-payment solutions requiring PCI DSS certification by themselves too.
